Yonaguska Frenchhawk, ancient wisdom keeper for the Eastern Band of Cherokees, was looking for a logo to represent his particular lineage. Frenchhawk is of the Wolf and Bird clans by birth, and his name, “Yonaguska,” means Bear in Cherokee, so all three animals are represented within the “O,” which represents Frenchhawk’s connection with the Sun. The purple, blue and green are the colors of Frenchhawk’s Hummingbird clan.
